Mental Health
The integration of mental health in primary health care is the best way to provide integrated services, where primary care is the direct line of contact and the first between the individual and his physician. These steps will also contribute to reducing the cost of service due to the expected decline in secondary health-care referral as well as the reduction of the stigma by attending the psychiatry hospital.
Clinics are meant to provide services to patients referred from physicians working in health centers aged 18 years and above. Children under the age of eighteen and persons with addiction problems are excluded from the cases, where they are transferred to special units in the psychiatric hospital. Promotional, preventive, curative and rehabilitative psychological services are provided through all health centers.
