Indications: Anti-emetic, pre-operative sedative and anticholinergic agent. Side Effects: Drowsiness; include headache, psychomotor impairment, and antimuscarinic effects such as urinary retention, dry mouth, blurred vision, and gastro-intestinal disturbances. Dose: pre-medication, by mouth: Child, 6-12 month, 10 mg; 1-5 years, 15-20 mg; 6-10 years, 20-25 mg. By deep IM injection, 25-50 mg 1 hour before operation. Child, 5-10 years, 6.25-12.5 mg. |
