Indications malignant hyperthermia; chronic severe spasticity of voluntary muscle Cautions avoid extravasation (risk of tissue necrosis); Pregnancy: use only if potential benefit outweighs risk Breast-feeding: present in milk—use only if potential benefit outweighs risk Side Effects: hepatotoxicity, pulmonary oedema, dizziness, weakness, and injection-site reactions including erythema, rash, swelling, and thrombophlebitis. Dose By rapid intravenous injection, ADULT, initially 2–3 mg/kg, then 1 mg/kg repeated as required to a cumulative max. of 10 mg/kg. |
