Indications: allergic conjunctivitis, corneal conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eye, uvetis and keratitis. Contra-indications: injuries and ulcerations of the cornea including especially infections of viral and bacterial origin. Side Effects: ‘steroid glaucoma' may follow the use of corticosteroid eye reparations in susceptible individuals; -a ‘steroid cataract' may follow prolonged use. -Other side effects: include thinning of the cornea and sclera. Dose: Apply every 1–2 hours until controlled then reduce frequency apply a little eye ointment or instill 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac several times daily. |
