Indications: Pyridoxine deficiency, including inadequate diet, drug-induced causes (e.g. isoniazid, hydralazine, oral contraceptives) or inborn errors of metabolism; Idiopathic sideroblastic anaemia; parenteral use is indicated when oral therapy is not feasible. Dose: neuritis and deficiency states, 20-50mg up to 3 times daily. Isoniazid neuropathy prophylaxis, 10mg daily. Idiopathic sideroblastic anaemia, 100-400mg daily in divided doses. |
