Indications: candidiasis; vaginal infection, skin and oral infection. Side Effects: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea at high doses; oral irritation and sensitisation; rash (including urticaria) and rarely Stevens-Johnson syndrome. Dose: By mouth, intestinal candidiasis 500 000 units every 6 hours, doubled in severe infection; child 100 000 units 4 times daily. For use as mouth wash in oral candidiasis, place 1 ml of the suspension in the mouth and retain near lesions 4 times daily; continued for 48 hours after lesions have resolved. |
