Description

TB is defined as an infectious disease caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis , which attacks the lungs, and may affect other parts of the body .

Causes

the causing organism is a bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis

TB spreads through the air when a person with TB of the lungs coughs, sneezes, or talks

Symptoms

- Persistent cough for three weeks or more .

- Chest pain when breathing or coughing .
- Weight and appetite loss .
- weakness and fatigue  .
- High fever .
- Sweating, especially at night .

Treatments

TB treatment takes a long time ranging from 6-9 months . There are some medications that are used to treat .

Prevention

With active tuberculosis is advised therefore :
- Stay at home, or in a private room (especially in the first weeks of infection ).
- Ventilated room constantly .
- Cover your mouth and nose when talking, sneezing and coughing .
- Wear a mask when you walk around or with the presence of other persons .
-  take the medicine .
- It is recommended to take the vaccine for tuberculosis (BCG) For all children at birth .

Complications

Neglect of the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis may cause the spread to other parts of the body, including bone, brain, kidney, liver or heart .
