Description

Symptoms

- Burning pain in the chest usually occurs after eating and at night .
- Pain increases when you lie down or bend .

Treatments

 

- Antacids help to neutralize the acidity .
- Anti H2 Which reduces the acidity of the stomach .
- Stabilizers, proton pump inhibitors

Prevention

- elevate the head of the bed .
- avoid eating heavey meals at night or before going to bed  .
- Quit Smoking .
- Weight loss .
- Eating high protein .
- Avoid wearing tight clothing .
- Avoid foods that cause acidity .

Complications

- Acute inflammation of the esophagus .
- Bleeding or difficulty swallowing .
- Gastritis . .
- Ulcers .
