• Headache Types
there are three common types which are:
- Tension headache
o It affects both sexes equally .
o Gradually lead to pain or strain or pressure in the neck or the front or scalp.
- Migraine
o Causing moderate or severe pain often in the form of pulse .
o more infemales than males.
o May start at the age of adolescence, and sometimes after the age of forty.
o may be preceeded by aura .
o Often associated with nausea and sensitivity to light and noise .
- Cluster headaches
o It causes pain around the eye
begins at the same time of day or night .
o Causing redness of the eyes or runny nose .
o Often affects men, especially smokers.
o Usually lasts between 15 minutes to 3 hours.
Treatments
Often pain killers relieve the pain but in case of continuation of the pain for more than two days you must see your doctor specially if you have these associated symptoms :
- High temperature .
- Stiffness in the neck .
- spasm .
- breathing difficulties
-projectile vomiting
- neurological signs and symptoms .
Risk Factor
- Smoking.
- High blood pressure.
- Psychological stress and physical stress.
- lack of sleep .
- Hormonal changes in women during the menstrual cycle or after menopause.
- exposure to bright light.
- strong odors .
- Enclosed and poorly ventilated places.
- Noise.
