Description

Osteoporosis is a bone disease that occurs when the body loses bone, or doesnt make bone, or both. As a result, bones become weak and fragile and may break from a fall

 in this disease the bone have lost density or mass and contain abnormal tissue structure

Causes

Osteoporosis occurs when there is an imbalance between new bone formation and old bone resorption

 

 this loss depends on the speed of many depends on several factors:
First: factors cannot be changed (fixed )
- Age
- Weight
- Genetic factor
Second: The factors are subject to change ( not fixed )
- Lack of fitness due to the lack of movement and lack of exercise
- Calcium deficiency of daily food, .
- Smoking
- The high consumption of fast food, canned food and soft drinks .
- menopause age for women .
- The use of certain drugs such as steroids and drugs treat epilepsy for long periods .
- Lack of adequate exposure to sunlight .
Third , some medical problems can effect on bone health
-  thyroid gland disease  .
- Liver diseases .
- Lack of appetite .
- Lack of the hormone testosterone in men .

Symptoms

usually there arent any symptoms , it can grow silently

and the first symptoms would be breaking a bone

Treatments

Treatment for osteoporosis focuses on stopping the mineral loss, increasing bone density, preventing bone fractures, and controlling the pain associated with the disease

 

methods :
- Use of  painkillers.
- Physical therapy .
The rehabilitation .

Prevention

- Healthy eating
avoid unhealthy foods such as canned food, fast food and soft drinks .
- be physically active  .
- Stop smoking .
- Exposure to sunlight to stimulate the skin to form vitamin D
- If the person deals with cortisone drugs, drugs and anti-epileptic, or thyroid medication, you should consult a doctor whether he needs to test bone density or preventive treatment for osteoporosis .
