Description

The word (hemophilia) means blood thinners, which is a hereditary blood disease caused by a deficiency of clotting factors in the blood so that the blood of a person with hemophilia does not clot normally; making it bleed for a longer period.

Causes

Hemophilia is caused by a mutation , in one of the genes, that is responsible for making the clotting factor proteins needed to form a blood clot.

 

Symptoms

Bleeding into the joints

Bleeding into the skin (which is bruising)

Bleeding of the mouth and gums

Bleeding after circumcision

Bleeding after having shots

Bleeding in the head

nose bleeds

urine and stool blood

Risk Factor

 having a family history of the disease the biggest risk factor
