04/07/2025

As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen national capacities in health data analysis, the National Health Survey Committee, a joint initiative between the Ministry of Health and the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), organized a training workshop on “Health Data Analysis Methods.” The workshop brought together working teams from both the Ministry and the Authority.

On this occasion, Dr. Samia Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health at the Ministry of Health, emphasized that the National Health Survey serves as a fundamental tool for monitoring the health landscape in the Kingdom of Bahrain and provides an accurate database that contributes to the development of health services and policies. She also expressed her appreciation to WHO for its valuable technical support during the workshop.

For her part, Ms. Doaa Sultan Mohamed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry at iGA, highlighted the importance of such workshops in enhancing the skills of national professionals and improving the effectiveness of health survey implementation and data analysis.

The workshop was delivered by Dr. Eman Abdul Kareem, WHO expert, and focused on strengthening the national teams’ capacities in analyzing data from the 2024 National Health Survey, based on the latest globally approved methodologies and standards. It also included a review of the survey’s implementation procedures to ensure alignment with WHO standards, in addition to presenting preliminary statistical findings and discussing the upcoming analysis steps and future project phases.

It is worth noting that the third National Health Survey, which was launched in October 2024, targets over 4,000 households across various governorates of the Kingdom. The survey is part of national efforts to build a comprehensive health database that supports planning and development of healthcare services in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
