Bahrain, Türkiye discuss healthcare cooperation

Dr. Jaleela bint Sayed Jawad Hassan, Minister of Health, met with Semir Ferraoğlu, Head of Medical Authority between Turkey and GCC countries at the Bosphrous Summit.
The minister highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation and investment in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.
On his part, Ferraoğlu commended the advancement of Bahrain’s healthcare sector and underscored the commitment to enhancing partnerships between Bahrain and Türkiye in the pharmaceuticals and medical industries.
He also extended his congratulations to the Kingdom on its medical achievement in successfully completing the treatment of a sickle cell patient using CRISPR gene-editing technology, marking the first documented case of its kind outside the United States.
