Health Minister meets GAVI CEO

Dr. Jaleela bint Al Sayyed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, met Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI), during her visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The minister highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening health cooperation, ensuring vaccine availability, and supporting immunisation programmes. She emphasised the Kingdom’s efforts to expand international partnerships for sustainable vaccine supply and disease preparedness, commending GAVI’s role in enhancing global immunisation systems.
She reviewed Bahrain’s vaccination achievements, particularly during COVID-19, and reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining health security. She also discussed Bahrain’s initiative at the latest Arab Summit, held in May 2024, on healthcare for conflict-affected populations and regional pharmaceutical and vaccine manufacturing, implemented in collaboration with WHO, the Arab League, and other partners.
On her part, Dr. Nishtar praised Bahrain’s healthcare advancements, recognising the Kingdom as a model in immunisation and equitable vaccine access. She underscored the importance of Bahrain-GAVI collaboration in expanding vaccination and regional vaccine manufacturing.
Both sides expressed commitment to strengthening cooperation to ensure vaccine sustainability and regional health security.
