The Ministry of Health, in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) Country Office in the Kingdom of Bahrain, organized a training workshop on death notification and improving mechanisms for recording and reporting deaths. This initiative is part of ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of health data and implement international standards in health classification.
During the workshop’s opening, Dr. Samia Bahram, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health, emphasized the importance of developing and improving disease classification systems in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She noted that the workshop aims to utilize the International Classification of Diseases (ICD), contributing to improving the accuracy of health data and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
Dr. Bahram explained that updating health classification systems is a key part of efforts to enhance the efficiency of healthcare services. Accurate data plays a crucial role in shaping effective health policies and making informed decisions based on reliable information. She also stressed the importance of transferring the knowledge gained during the workshop to professionals across various healthcare institutions. This step, she noted, is part of a broader vision to improve the quality of health data and achieve the highest levels of accuracy in recording and classifying deaths.
