Health Ministry: Inmate’s health condition stable
The Ministry of Health has expressed deep regret over the information posted on social media regarding the health situation of inmate Hassan Mushaima, who is serving a criminal sentence at the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre in Jau, noting that they are baseless and false.
The Health Ministry indicated that the inmate enjoys integrated health care, according to the recommendations of the doctors specialised in treating his condition, adding that he receives high-quality health care, just like the rest of the citizens, by the Reformation and Rehabilitation Centre’s medical clinic which delivers health care for all inmates, under its (Health Ministry’s) supervision.
The Ministry affirmed that that the inmate’s medical record documents the regular periodic follow-up on his health condition, and his medical file includes updates on his health status and follow-ups by doctors supervising his health situation in various specialties, adding that his medical record indicates that since 2020, he has undergone more than 100 medical check-ups by the general physician, the chronic diseases’ specialist, dentist, and the orthopedic and fracture surgery consultant.
The ministry also asserted that his health condition is being monitored with regard to the terminal illness he suffers from at the specialised Oncology Centre.
The Health Ministry confirmed that the inmate’s medical reviews are arranged and coordinated according to the appointments required by therapists, commensurate with his health condition, adding that he has a medical appointment in the coming days.
The Ministry indicated that the last two medical reviews had revealed the stability of the inmate’s health condition, emphasising its keenness to give priority to the citizen's health, through ensuring the necessary medical care for all patients.
The Health Ministry urged everyone not to publish, share or circulate incorrect information, stressing the importance of obtaining information for its correct sources.
