One restaurant closed; 202 outlets inspected
The Public Health Directorate closed one restaurant for one week for flouting the mandatory precautionary measures for combating the novel coronavirus.
Food control inspectors referred 64 restaurants and cafes to the competent legal authorities last Thursday to face action, said the Ministry of Health.
Inspectors visited a total of 202 restaurants and cafes to ensure their compliance with health protocols and preventive measures, stipulated in the ministerial edict 21 of 2020.
“The judicial officials spotted the irregularities and took required measures against the violators”, said the ministry in a statement today, urging adherence to health protocols to curb the pandemic.
