One mosque; five community centres closed for two weeks
The Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments has closed one mosque in the Capital Governorate for two weeks for flouting health protocols, exposing worshippers to danger.
The ministry has also closed five community centres (maatams) in the Capital, Northern and Southern Governorates for two weeks in coordination with the National Medical Team for Combatting the Coronavirus (COVID-19).
“The time will be used by the relevant teams to carry out the process of tracing contacts, sanitize the premises and ensure that all precautionary measures are taken.”, said the ministry.
The ministry warned that it would follow up on the implementation of the mandatory measures at mosques and community centres and intensify inspections to protect people’s health and safety.
