Health Minister praises Bahrain-WHO cooperation

Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh held a virtual meeting with World Health Organisation (WHO) regional director for for the Eastern Mediterranean Dr. Ahmed Al Mandhari, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Mariam Al Hajeri and Human and Financial Resources Acting director Ms. Intisar Al Rumaithi.

Newly-appointed Bahrain-based WHO Office Representative Dr. Tasnim Atatra was welcomed during the virtual session.

Al Saleh praised relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the World Health Organisation (WHO) through the WHO representative to follow-up on projects.

She praised the role of WHO experts and representatives in strengthening cooperation and stepping up coordination in order to further regional and international health strategies. 

Dr. Al Mandhari lauded the pioneering role of Bahrain which was one of the first countries to develop health services in the region, praising the Kingdom’s strides in this vital sector and efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
