Health Ministry: 517, 603 receive their first COVID-19 vaccine dose

A total of 517, 603 people have so far received their first dose against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), said the Ministry of Health.
 
According to updated figures featured in the daily update release the National COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign, 257, 593 are fully vaccinated after receiving two doses.
 
The ministry said that the vaccination campaign has greatly contributed to protecting a large segment of the population, especially the groups most vulnerable to health complications associated with (Covid-19) with latent diseases.
 
In a statement today, the ministry said that the provision  of COVID-19 doses has contributed to accelerating the pace of the national vaccination programme.
 
It said that Bahrain would continue to harness all capabilities in order to preserve the health and safety of everyone through the best global health practices.
 
It underlined intensified precautionary efforts and proactive measures to enhance health security through continuous follow-up of global developments to provide safe and approved vaccinations.  
 
It urged people to take their vaccines  in support of national efforts to combat the pandemic, underlining  the national responsibility of every individual in society to adhere to the mandatory precautionary measures.
 
The ministry called upon all citizens and residents aged above 18, especially the elderly and the most vulnerable disease-prone groups who have not yet received vaccination, to register and receive the vaccine in order to  protect themselves and all society.
