Health Minister receives US Chargé d'Affaires
Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh received US Embassy Chargé d'Affaires Margaret Nardi and discussed joint cooperation.
The minister commended the US decision to rejoin to the World Health Organisation (WHO) , urging international solidarity to combat COVID-19 and speed up the equitable distribution of vaccines as part of the COVAX initiative.
She lauded historic strategic relations binding Bahrain and the USA and stressed share desired to bolster joint cooperation, underlining memoranda of cooperation which were signed by the two countries.
She cited in this regards the agreement which was signed with Harvard University to implement the national genome project in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The US Embassy Chargé d'Affaires took pride in the solid relations of friendship and cooperation, hailing Bahrain’s unwavering efforts to combat the pandemic, undertake pe-emptive measures and step up vaccination.
The two sides discussed joint cooperation in the health sector to exchange medical expertise under the visiting doctor programme, in addition to promoting research and training.
