Health Ministry Undersecretary for Public Health participates in virtual meeting

Health Ministry Undersecretary for Public Health, member of the Technical Consultative Committee of the Arab Health Ministers Council, Dr. Meriam Ibrahim Al Hajeri, participated in the committee’s 9th virtual meeting.
 
The meeting was inaugurated by Arab League Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazala, in the presence of Minister Plenipotentiary, Director of the Health and Humanitarian Aid Department and in the official charge of the Technical Secretariat of the Arab Health Ministers Council, Chancellor Said Al Hadhi.
 
Dr. Al Hajeri said the meeting was held in preparation for the 54th regular session of the Arab Health Ministers Council and its executive bureau which is slated to be held in March with the participation of the Arab Health Ministers of the member states.
 
Discussions focused on health issues, including mainly the repercussions of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the Arab region.
 
On the sidelines of the meeting, the first Arab-American joint preparatory meeting was held between the Technical Consultative Committee of the Arab Health Ministers Council and the American Ministers of Health and Human Services.
