Health Minister receives British ambassador
Minister of Health Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh received in her office today British Ambassador to Bahrain Roderick Drummond and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Meriam Al Hejeri.
They discussed developments related to coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the steps taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to confront it.
The Minister of Health welcomed the British ambassador, lauding distinguished cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the United Kingdom mainly in the health field.
They discussed a number of issues of common interest and ways of availing from the exchange of medical expertise in the health sector.
They also reviewed the preemptive measures taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to confront COVID-19 and provide the best alternatives as well as diagnostic and therapeutic solutions according to the latest scientific evidence.
The Health Minister pointed out the kingdom’s successful experience as part of its participation in the third phase of the clinical trials of COVID-19 vaccine.
The British ambassador praised the tremendous efforts and capabilities provided by the Kingdom of Bahrain to combat coronavirus, expressing appreciation of the achievements made in this respect which reflect the government’s care for the citizens and residents and keenness on maintaining health security.
