National Anti-smoking Committee meeting held

Health Minister Faeqa bint Saeed Al Saleh, delegated Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Mariam Al Hajri, to participate in National Anti-smoking Committee meeting.
 
The meeting discussed the committee members’ opinions regarding updating the tobacco control national plan in Bahrain.
 
Head of Antismoking Group Dr. Ejlal Al Alawi, presented a proposal of the committee’s annual report, which includes statistics, achievements and efforts made by the relevant authorities to combat smoking and tobacco of all kinds. In addition, the committee discussed the heated tobacco products memorandum to be submitted to the Cabinet.
 
They reviewed the tobacco economics in the GCC countries study, which was carried out with the support of the GCC Health Council.
