Health Minister receives UAE medical delegation
Minister of Health Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh received today a UAE medical delegation comprising Dr. Nawal Al Ka’abi, from Shaikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi and Head of the COVID-19 Clinical Management Committee, Dr. Walid Zaher, the Director of the UAE Research Group and a visiting Chinese delegation led by the Head of the Biology Department at China National Pharmaceutical Group (Sinopharm).
The meeting was held in the presence of Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health Dr. Meriam Al Hejeri to discuss cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the UAE, through Group 42 (G42) company, concerning starting the 3rd phase of clinical tests on coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine in Bahrain.
The Health Minister commended distinguished cooperation between Bahrain and the UAE, mainly in the research field, exchanging expertise and applying advanced technologies to conduct coronavirus detection examinations. She affirmed the need to continue developing strategic relations and joint cooperation amidst coronavirus pandemic.
The delegation praised Bahrain’s handling of the virus outbreak, expressing keenness on achieving fruitful results during the third phase of the clinical tests of coronavirus vaccine in Bahrain. Discussions also focused on the UAE’s experience in clinical tests and ways of availing of them.
