Health Minister condoles with Lebanese counterpart on Beirut blast victims

Minister of Health Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh, the Chairperson of the 53rd regular session of the Arab Health Ministers Council, held today a telephone call with her Lebanese counterpart Dr. Hamad Hassan to get assured about the situation in Lebanon. She extended condolences to the Lebanese people on the victims of the blast which happened in Beirut harbour on August 4, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
 
The Health Minister voiced solidarity of the Kingdom of Bahrain with Lebanon, praying to Allah the Almighty to enable the Lebanese people to overcome the hard situation and bless them and all the Arab and Muslim countries with constant peace and stability.
 
The Lebanese Health Minister expressed sincerest thanks to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for his directives to provide urgent humanitarian and relief aid to Lebanon to alleviate their suffering which resulted from the big explosion. He also lauded Bahrain’s stance and solidarity with Lebanon and the Lebanese people.
 
Health Minister Faeqa bint Said Al Saleh also held telephone calls with her Egyptian counterpart Dr. Hala Zayed, the Head of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Health Ministers Council, to discuss passing a resolution by the Arab Health Ministers Council to provide financial support to buy medicines and medical equipment through the Arab Health Ministers Council’s Health Development Fund in support of Lebanon. They also discussed coordination with Amb. Dr Haifa Abu Ghazala, the Assistant Secretary General and Head of the Social Affairs Sector, regarding the issuance of the resolution by the Arab Health Ministers Council on urgent support to Lebanon.
