27/02/2020

Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, has confirmed that it is complying with the Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) decisions to temporarily suspend flights to and from Iraq and Lebanon effective immediately and until further notice.

The decision has been taken in order to safeguard the health and welfare of the Kingdom’s citizens and residents from the current Coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.

“Passengers are advised to visit gulfair.com/flightstatus to check the status of their flight along with rebooking and refund instructions,” Gulf Air said in a statement.

“The Gulf Air Contact Centre will be contacting affected passengers and assisting them accordingly. Passengers who have made their bookings through a travel agent are advised to get in touch with the agents directly regarding their rebooking and refund options.”

Passengers should check the airlines website before traveling or to call the Gulf Air Contact Centre for more information on +97317373737, the company added.

“We are experiencing higher than usual call volumes due to passenger queries about the Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 and it may take more time than usual to answer customer calls,” it said.

“Gulf Air apologizes to its affected passengers for any inconvenience that this may have caused and is working closely with the concerned authorities in Bahrain and take all precautionary and preventive measures in order to ensure the safety and security of the citizens and residents along with passengers and crew.”
