The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced the end of the registration period for the “Select Your Family Physician” program at eight health centers across the Kingdom, with more than 83,000 families and individuals registered at the third phase of the program’s implementation.

The MOH expressed its gratitude to all those who registered for the national program, which is part of the Kingdom’s National Health Insurance Scheme.  The MOH added that the program “Select Your Family Physician” is in line with values and principles set by the Kingdom’s 2016 – 2025 National Health Plan, approved by the Cabinet, aimed at further developing Bahrain’s health sector to effectively address all citizens’ health needs.

The MOH highlighted the program’s role in further strengthening interaction between Bahraini families and their selected physician, making it easier for doctors to follow-up on a patient’s medical history and needs.

It’s worth mentioning that the MOH is currently working on gradually implementing the program across all medical health centers in the Kingdom. Its first phase was implemented at the Aali Health Center. At its second phase, the program was implemented at five different health centers, which include the NBB Health Centre in Arad, Bilad Alqadeem Health Centre, Isa Town Health Centre, Kuwait Health Centre and Ahmed Ali Kanoo Health Centre. At its third phase, the program has been implemented at eight health centers across the Kingdom, which include the NBB Health Center in Dair, the BBK Health Center in Hidd, Jidhafs Health Center, Budaiya Health Center, Shaikh Jaber Al Sabah Health Center in Barbar, Hamad Town Health Center, Shaikh Subah Al-Salem health Center, and Halat Bu Maher Health Center.
