Ministry of Health held a workshop as part of the Bahrain Genome Project

The Ministry of Health held a workshop primarily aimed at increasing health professionals’ awareness in regards to collecting genome samples.

The workshop builds on past efforts that aim to effectively launch a bio-bank that will strengthen preventative care and mitigate preventable diseases.

The workshop that highlighted DNA-sample collection, attracted over 80 health professionals from the Salmaniya Medical Complex and various other health centers to prepare them to collect over 1,000 samples.

The workshop also addressed genome-related queries to unlock new opportunities.

The Ministry of Health has begun welcoming participants to its facilities and is collecting samples that will be stored in the biobank.
