Surgical team at SMC removes stones from Obese and heart disease patient using Percutaneous nephrolithotomy ( PCNL )

Head of Surgery unit at SMC, Dr, Rani Alagha revealed  that Urology division at SMC managed to fragment an remove a 5.5 CM stone of a patient kidney using Percutaneous nephrolithotomy  ( PCNL ). The patient has heart disease and suffers from obesity at the same time, which makes the surgery option invalid due to its danger on his life. This technique was used for the time in Bahrain with this patient and made a great success by God will, as the vital functions in the patient’s body got back to its norms and he managed to pass urine easily after this huge stone was blocking the urine passage.
