The events and activities aim to promote the cultural awareness of mouth and teeth health in the society - Minister of health opens the inauguration ceremony of the events of the Gulf unified week of improving mouth and teeth health

His Excellency, minister of health Mr. Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabu opened on Tuesday morning, the 25th of March 2014 the inauguration ceremony of the Gulf fifth unified week to improve mouth and teeth health in the hall of his highness prince Abdulaziz bin Fahad bin Abdulaziz Al-Suad in the center of her highness prince Al-Johra bint Ebrahim Al-Ibrahim with the attendance of the president of Arabian Gulf University Dr. Khalid Al-Owhali, undersecretary of ministry of health Dr. Aysha Mubarak Bu'Anq, assistant undersecretary of primary care and public health Dr. Mariam Al-Jalahma, assistant undersecretary of training and planning Dr. Hala Al-Mehz'a, assistant undersecretary of financial and technical affairs Mr. Maher Al-Anees and some senior officials in the ministry of health. At the beginning of the ceremony, his Excellency, minister of health, Mr. Sadiq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi recited a speech in which he said: "It is of my pleasure to be with you today in the inauguration ceremony of the events of the Gulf fifth unified week to improve mouth and teeth health which its content concentrate on preventive medicine" pointing out that preventive medicine is a principle branch of medicine that aims to predict diseases and preventing them before they happen and minimizing their severity and complications which positively affects the quality and length of life and societies' health in general. Preventive medicine depends mainly on health education as the last decades witnessed radical change in the forms of the disease and ways of their transmission, so it became necessary for lots of the world civilized countries to find a central and effective administration for health education by putting health and preventive plans and strategies for society's members of all age groups. His Excellency minister of health also pointed that the interest of ministry of health in Bahrain in mouth and teeth health comes in commitment to instructions from the wise leadership of the necessity of care and attention to providing all forms of health care to all citizens and residents equally including providing high quality care in mouth and teeth health to all reviewers. He continued: "And in desire to continue our commitment to providing the best care regarding mouth and teeth health, we invite all health workers to continue the upgrading and development and ensure cooperation with each other for the success of the health projects, events and programs regarding mouth and teeth health among the countries of the gulf cooperation council generally and in the kingdom of Bahrain specifically wishing them success and luck and from here came the concentration on preventive medicine and health education as a primary direction for the ministry of health in the kingdom of Bahrain and in all the countries of the Gulf cooperation council and our meeting today is only an evidence of our understanding of the importance of improving mouth and teeth health for a healthier society". Minister Al-Shehabi also added: "We are proud of the presence of serious and dedicated human energies that provide a lot in the field of mouth and teeth health in our beloved kingdom and aim to reach to healthy generations that has no diseases but they need the cooperation of different institutions of the civil society to achieve this aim". He also invited all the governmental and private institutions to handle the responsibility to support the efforts of the sincere people in preventive medicine for these efforts to be fruitful and achieve the expected aims. At the end of his speech, his Excellency minister of health thanked all who contributed materially and morally in supporting the events and activities of this week. He also thanked the organizing committee, on top of it is her Excellency the assistant undersecretary of primary care and public health Dr. Mariam Athbi Al-Jalahma and the director of the organizing committee Dr. Azhar Ali Naseeb, a consultant of improving and promoting mouth and teeth health and the member of the Gulf committee of mouth and teeth health and thanks also to all who is responsible of mouth and teeth health in primary care wishing everybody luck and success. A documental film was also displayed about the events of the Gulf fifth unified week to improve mouth and teeth health for the past years followed by a play about mouth and teeth health performed by the students of Kanoo International School. Then, the foundations and individuals participating and supporting the events were honored. After that, his Excellency minister of health opened the exhibition accompanying the inauguration ceremony of the Gulf unified week of mouth and teeth health and so the different parts of the exhibition and what it contains of general health and educational mouth and teeth health instructions. The events of the Gulf fifth unified week to improve mouth and teeth health that extend between 25-31 March 2014 contain many social purposeful activities and events to improve mouth and teeth health between people of the Bahraini society with its different age groups. It include participation of different sides of governmental and private institutions, entertainment utilities and malls so that a large number of citizens and residents of different age groups benefit from it like the one that will be held in Lulu Hypermarket in Al-Hidd area on Wednesday 26 March 2014 and on Thursday 27 March 2014 in Seef Mall and on Saturday 29 March 2014 in farmers market and on Sunday 30 March 2014 in Al-Ramli Mall in A'ali Area and in 31 March 2013 is the festival of Muharraq municipality. On sidelines of that, free biological test and medical consultations will be provided to the participants and visitors like examining the mouth and teeth, measuring blood sugar, measuring blood pressure, measuring height and weight. Brochures and gifts about improving mouth and teeth will also be distributed among children, participants and visitors in order to merge the events of the Gulf unified week of mouth and teeth health within the family entertaining program on confirmation to the constructive social partnership principle as children and students will then do a tour inside the mall to send health messages to other children accompanied by a delegation from the ministry of health and the ministry of education.
