Marking the start of the Gulf Traffic Week under the slogan “Our goal is your safety " - The Ministry of Health in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic organizes a field visit to the Salmaniya Medical Complex for victims of accidents

On the occasion of Gulf Traffic Week which began on " Sunday “, corresponding March 9th, under the slogan " Our goal is safety," the Ministry of Health in collaboration with the General Directorate of Traffic, organized a field visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex for a number of cases which had different traffic accidents in the presence of representatives from all the states of the GCC. The aim of this visit is to see the impact of traffic accidents on human health and community, and which lead to death or serious injuries that can cause permanent disability or fractures or loss of part of the body, especially the limbs and teeth. The reason for these traffic accidents is often exceeding speed limit and wrong overtaking by motorists, the lack of efficiency of the vehicle or means of transportation, lack of attention and concentration of the driver, driving in unsuitable weather conditions and driving in strong psychological or emotional conditions. Representatives of the traffic departments in GCC states called on all road users to abide by the rules and regulations of traffic to achieve the principle of traffic safety in its broadest sense. This aims to reduce or prevent traffic accidents in order to preserve human safety and property and to maintain the security of the country and its components of human and economic development, arguing that the traffic accidents are the most crucial problems that consume physical resources and human potential. Moreover, it targets communities in the most important necessities of life which is the human element. . The Gulf Traffic Week is an important opportunity to exchange Gulf experiences and strategies to reduce traffic accidents and higher rates of safety on the road by raising awareness and culture of the most important wrong behaviors by others which cause the high rate of accidents. So every state of the Gulf Cooperation Council is keen to organize a variety of events throughout the unified Week of Traffic which lasts until Thursday, March 13th this month. Visiting the Victims of traffic accidents in the Salmaniya Medical Complex is considered one of the important events. Among the most important events this Gulf week is the inauguration of traffic village in Amwaj Islands , and the traffic forum at the University of Bahrain under the slogan " Youth Without Accidents " in which specialists offer scientific papers on aspects of physical and mental health , legal and legitimate , engineering, and discuss recent related studies, and honor a number of ideal drivers at different ages who have spent years without committing traffic violations in order to encourage the role of community partnership. It is worth mentioning that the General Directorate of Traffic evaluates a variety of events for GCC delegates participating in the Gulf Traffic Week. Delegations will meet Sheikh Nasser Bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa , Director General of the General Directorate of Traffic .Delegates will also be distributed at traffic points in different provinces, and inform them of all the traffic services provided by the public directorate in addition to visits to the most prominent landmarks in the Kingdom of Bahrain , including the Bahrain International Circuit and the Military Museum of the Bahrain Defense Force and headquarters of the National Action Charter in Sakhir.
