A UK Expert in Aesthetic posterior Composite fillings visiting Bahrain to give a workshop

The Dental Continuous Professional Development Program (CPD) at the Ministry of Health (MOH) organized a workshop entitled “How to Do Posterior Composites” during the period 27-30 June 2009 that was held at Bahrain Dental society & Naim Health Centre. An International expert in tooth colored fillings; Dr. Chris Lynch was invited by the training department at the MOH to give this course. Dr. Lynch is a Visiting Professor at the Royal College of Surgeons- Medical University of Bahrain. He is also a Senior Lecturer/Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at Cardiff University, UK. The course consisted of Theoretical & practical parts where Dr. Lynch explained all about the advanced techniques & materials in restoring posterior teeth with white (composite) fillings. Studies have confirmed that these white fillings have proved to be as strong as amalgam (silver filling material) that should last 8-10 years if done properly. Dr. Ameera Radhi; The Dental CPD Coordinator announced that materials for this workshop were supplied by the sponsoring Company Dentsply-UK through their agent in Bahrain Gulf Pharmacy & cold stores. The Workshop was organized to the dentists in the Dental & oral Health services Department at the Ministry (MOH), the resident trainee dentists at the Specialized Dental Residency Program (SDRP) as well as the Dental Tutors in the program. Dentists in the private sector were also invited to attend the course through Bahrain Dental Society. More than 50 participants have attended the workshop & they have gained 9 verifiable CPD hours approved by the Ministry of Health.
