Ministry of Health and iGA Prepare to Launch National Health Survey
Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain – Ministry of Health Assistant Undersecretary of Public Health and Chair of the National Health Survey Committee, Dr. Samia Ali Bahram announced preparations for the pilot phase of the National Health Survey, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) and primary healthcare centers. It will be carried out during the last quarter of this year, leading up to the National Survey.
Dr. Bahram highlighted that the National Health Survey aims at collecting comprehensive health data in Bahrain to enhance the database that support health plans and policies and the overall healthcare system development.
As part of the preparations, the Ministry conducted its first specialized training sessions to prepare researchers for the National Health Survey. The four-day trainings were held at the Public Health Directorate premises and provided researchers with essential tools and techniques for accurate data collection and analysis. They included lectures and interactive workshops on effective communication with survey participants, questions and questionnaires, field surveying, health data collection, and skills in survey administration, statistical analysis, and findings synthesis.
iGA Deputy Chief Executive of Statistics and Population Registry, Duaa Sultan emphasized the crucial role of surveys conducted by the iGA in partnership with government entities. She highlighted the National Health Survey as a key part of the iGA's series of surveys for this year. which support policymakers with precise data across sectors.
