The ministry of health is looking forward to make the wise vision of his majesty the king come true in what concerns the involvement of information technology
and support the kingdom’s efforts towards the sustainable digital conversion in all institutions, especially in health field, which will reflect on the quality of services
and also cut the costs due to using less paper, hence maintain a healthy environment. The ministry’s efforts directed towards making a holistic digital
conversing are evident through the following projects:

Enforcing an E-system to monitor the actual costs and budgets of projects and expenses for various directorates at MOH
-
this project is expected to meet the needs of MOH in regards to the actual costs and budgets of the
ministry and control its expenses, and linking this program with HoRIson, FMIS and ISEHA.
Benefits of this project:
- Monitor and control of the actual cost of projects and expenses of various directorates at MOH.
- Check and monitor clinical data provided by ISEHA then analyze and compare it with the data in the actual cost system.

Licensing & Inspection Control System

the aim of this project is to apply an electronic system to monitor stores and restaurants to check their compliance with public
health conditions and make reports on these institutions and link the system with corporates registration system at the ministry of Commerce.
Laptops were provided also to inspectors for the entry of permits data directly from inspection places in the system.
Benefits of the project:

Development of needed programs and Automation of commercial stores and restaurants’ health checkups, through the direct entry of inspection
data in the system right from the inspected institution using portable devices, which gives investors access to their institution’s violations
through MOH’s site, using a special password sent to them via text messages.

Giving inspection supervisors access to organize regular inspection visits and follow-up with them through the system, which will accelerate
inspection process and follow-up with institutions inspection.

Facilitate communication with investors by linking the system of stores and restaurants inspection in Public health directorate to MOH site, and putting
all violations online for investors to check after notifying them via a text message.

Activating the role of laptops for inspectors to use in the entry of violations directly from the inspected place.

Facilitate investment process in the country due to the swift process of health inspection.

LPO Tracking

this project aims to develop a system to track purchase requests between Purchase department and Finance directorate. An
integrated system was created for this purpose and it’s been working efficiently ever since its launch in November 2017 and the staff received
training to use it. users of the system register purchase requests electronically and send it to obligation section at Finance department, as
they either approve of them or reject them in case of a missing document or lack of budget. The approved requests are sent via the system to
payment section to prepare and forward to the ministry of Finance, and there is a special feature that allows copy of documents, reports and statistics by all sections.

Pre-employment medical checkup in private hospitals

this project aims to develop the electronic system for the Privatization of foreign labor medical check-up and optimize the current system to meet
the requests and demands of E-Government Authority and it happens under the supervision of First Deputy Prime Minister Office. another goal of
this project is to facilitate the completion of medical checkups for foreign labors to enroll in the job as fast as possible, which will has a good impact
on the investment realm in the kingdom. This project is incorporated by MOH and LMRA, which through medical check-up appointments for
foreign labor will be dispensed to private hospitals and health centers accredited by NHRA and finally comes the approval process, which is the responsibility of the medical committee at MOH.
Stages of working on the application:

After getting labor permits from LMRA, the guarantor is then asked about the kind of labor the worker will be practicing prior the having the medical check-up after he arrives at Bahrain.

There are two types of labor check-up services: the regular one where an appointment is booked in any private hospital or health center according to
appointment’s vacancy or the excellent services, through which the guarantor selects the private hospital or health center to complete the worker’s medical check-up.

The appointment is booked according to the information provided by the guarantor once the laborer arrives at the airport.

The name of the laborer is registered once he arrives at the hospital or health center for the test, then blood samples are taken from him, X-ray is
done and other clinical tests, in addition to confirming his finger print read. Then the resulted are registered and sent to the medical committee through the site of E-Government Authority.

The results are received and approved by MOH then sent electronically to LMRA.

MOH role is to supervise appointments booking and approve the results received from accredited health institutions.
-
MOH provides the proper method for the supervision of appointments and approving results, and it also links the system of foreign labor medical check-up with the systems of LMRA and E-Government Authority.
Benefits of the project:

All pre-employment medical check-ups where transferred from Alrazi health Center to private hospitals, which saved the ministry their costs.

Optimize appointment system and shorten the waiting period from a months to one week after the laborer land in the kingdom, which will promote investment opportunities and reduce health risks.

Enhance the process of laborers check-ups.
-
Providing private health institutions with new financial incomes through labor check-ups, which will push these institutions to find new ways for investment.

Improve communication with other Authorities like; LMRA and EGOV.

Food Vehicles inspection system
-
the aim of developing the E-system for food vehicles is to meet the requirements of EGOV, which are supervised
by the First Deputy Prime Minister Office. the system enables the user to book an appointment for their vehicle through Information Authority and
EGOV systems. The inspection results are entered in the system through portable devices in MOH after the vehicle inspection process, and the
system will be linked with the Traffic system to exchange the vehicles information and its inspection results.
Benefits of the project:

Speeding the process of taking the appointments for vehicles inspection through EGOV web page and also speeds the inspection process by MOH.

Notifying the user with the date and time of his appointment via message, which saves time and effort.

Inspectors supervisors can view the requests and dispense them among inspectors to speed up work.

Inspectors use portable devices to enter the results of the vehicle test in the system.
-
Inspectors chief sends the comments and activity of the vehicle that passes the inspection to traffic department online and they give their technical comments online as well. This ensures accuracy and speed the process.

RTLS (Real Time Location System)

this project aims at applying an electronic system to register and monitor all assets of MOH including medical devices and make reports of all these assets. This system will be linked with ISEHA, Horizon, FMIS and Oracle Inventory.
Benefits of the project:

Install and apply a developed system for the management and monitoring of MOH assets.

Drawing maps of all MOH buildings except for juffair building and save them electronically.
-
Compile an inventory of all MOH assets including; Medical, Tec and Engineering devices.

Transfer other information of the assets from the concerned departments online.

Reengineering of assets procedures in some directorates.

Provide Wifi network in all buildings of Salmaniya medical complex.

Linking the system with Horison, FMIS and ISEHA and Automation of purchase procedures, in addition to figuring how often the assets and medical of the ministry are used and how important are they.

Public Health licensing system

This project aims at applying an online system to register and license commercial stores and restaurants and make reports of these licenses. This system is linked to the registration system of Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade. Inspectors are also provided with laptops to enter licensing data directly from the inspected places.
Benefits of this project:

Receiving the applications for licenses from only one section in Public Health Department in coordination with a registry system, to which all the applications will be sent online. This will ease the implementation of the comprehensive inspector proposed by the First Deputy Prime Minister Office.

Linking the licensing system of Public Health Department to a registry system and developing a registry system for the non-conforming applications in order to make contact with investors easier and help in proceeding the work quickly.

Activating mobile devices will enable inspectors to enter the non-conforming applications directly from the place of inspection and that will contribute to quickly proceeding the work and eliminating paper transactions.

Sending messages to the applicants to notify them of the inspection date in order to reach the investor quickly.

Reducing the time lag between receiving registration form until completion of registration to less than five days.

Integrated Time Attendance & Access Control System

This project aims at regulating the attendance and leave of MOH employees and issuing overtime, summon, and shifts reports. Attendance and leave system has
been developed and new properties were added to the system. All the old data were removed from MDIS system and added again after the properties have been
developed and the data of part-time employees and retirees were added to the system. The new system has been implemented on all MOH departments and
more than 1500 supervisors in MOH were trained to use the new system. The data base of attendance and leave system in MOH is linked to the data base of Civil Service Commission.
Benefits of this project:

Regulating the attendance and leave of all MOH employees online.

Controlling overtime costs in addition to setting shift schedules and that will save more costs on MOH.

Applying the requirements of financial control in regards to attendance and leave and control costs.

Sending the attendance and leave data of MOH online to HoRiSoN system of Civil Service Commission and that saves more time and effort.

Interns information system project

This project aims at gathering information of the interns involved in family medicine program from the beginning and tracing the steps they get in different
years and presenting the final annual results through unified system. The system also records the specialized training courses that the student attends.
Benefits of this project:

Monitoring doctors training FPRP since the moment of their involvement in training program until the end.

Designing an information system for interns of family medicine program in MOH and observing their stages of development.
-
Recognizing the hard-working doctors in training programs easily in order to employ them in MOH.

Applying the ministry’s strategy that distinguish between employees and trainees.

Electronic clearance system

This project aims at making the clearance procedure for MOH employees online in order to save more time and effort.

Preserving clearance information in an information system in order to refer to it if needed.

Primary Health care Insurance system (PHI)
-
the aim of this project is to develop and apply an E-system to track and monitor and the primary insurance for bidding and guarantee the process of projects’ contracted between MOH and suppliers
Benefits of this project:

Develop an E-system for the tracking of Primary insurance and projects’ process information by Purchase department and Finance directorate
-
Create an integrated system to solve the problem of tracking the payment of projects financial insurance, and it was great success and satisfactory to users.

Provide needed training and support to the system.
-
Register primary guarantees and performance guarantees and send them online to obligation section in Finance directorate for approval or return to purchase department in case of a missing document or lack of budget.

Send approved documents to the concerned persons in payment section for preparation and forward to the ministry of Finance.
-
Copy feature that allows each section to make copies of documents, reports and required statistics.

Performance insurance money is refunded from the bank by the supplier after completion of the project.

Domestic Worker Health Check Application

This project aims at easing medical examinations process for household labors to enable them to do medical examinations as soon as possible in the health centers before working. This project is part of a comprehensive project between MOH, E-Government Authority, Labor Market Regulatory Authority, and Primary Health-care in MOH.
Working mechanism of this project:
-
Receiving household labors from the airport and verifying their personal data.
-
The household labor should go to the health center in order to take an appointment.
-
On the day of appointment, the household labor attendance, laboratory samples, radiography and bed checks should be taken.
-
Registering (FIT/ UNFIT) results in a program and sending it to Labor Market Authority website online.
-
Designing more features and reports to serve the system users.
-
Easing the process of doing medical examination for household labors.
-
Making contact with other authorities such as EGOV and LMRA easier.
-
Linking the system to Labor Market Authority to ensure payment of medical examination costs by health centers.

The system has been applied to all health centers.

Integration of food distribution vehicle inspection system with traffic management system

This project allows the users to take an appointment for food distribution vehicles via Authority Information System and E-Government. The entry of data is done by mobile devices.
Benefits of this project:

Different reports were added to the system.

Changing some of the system’s properties in order to suit the changes implemented on the inspection method.

The inspection system is linked to traffic management system to enable the inspector to send the comments to traffic management online and the traffic management will inspect and register the vehicle based on that.

Genomes Application

This project aims at accessing the personal data of people who have done genetic test. The data of genetic test are sent from the laboratory system “Iseha LAB”, however, the data of chronic disease patient are sent from patient electronic file system “Iseha EHR”. Moreover, a number of necessary reports were done to analyze data.

Developing the system to meet the requirements of users and giving authority to concerned people to get access to the data.

Linking the system to Information Authority and E-Government to get access to the personal information.

Sending the data of genetic test from the laboratory system “Iseha LAB” to the registration system for genetic test.

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

This project aims at applying an electronic system to record the data of development programs for health professions and making reports about these programs. The recording program for the continuous development of specialists was developed to manage training in MOH.
Benefits of this project:

The program was applied to record the continuous development of specialists in order to manage training in MOH.

More than 2000 employees were trained to use the system and given the authority to access the system.
-
The system is being used by almost 5000 of MOH.
-
Allowing all the employees of health professions to access the program and register the courses they have passed.

Making a webpage about anything that relates to training CPD.

Food and Water Samples Analysis system

This project aims at applying an electronic system in the laboratories of Public Health to examine the foods in supermarkets and restaurant and making reports about these examination. This project will meet the requirements of MOH related to the statistical reports of food examination.
Benefits of this project:

Create programs for food inspection in Public Health department in order to record food inspection data.

Enable inspectors to enter information of food samples from various locations.

STRP Tracking System
-
this project aims at creating an electronic system for training residence practitioners from the beginning of their application and admission until the yearly scheduling of training courses and therefore registering all applications to start sorting admitted residences in the program and schedule the yearly training per specialty and year, and also evaluate residences of each training course according to the schedule and follow-up with their annual evaluation. Promoting and applying training system in MOH and complete enclosing all the new requirements of training department in the system.
Benefits of this project:

Enable training department to track the training procedures of MOH employees and enter their training hours whether they were inside or outside Bahrain.
