Speech of Her Excellency the Minister of Health
The health organization represented by various authorities in the Kingdom of Bahrain has achieved many edge-cutting achievements in the health sector, and the merit to all these successes goes to the great support, and attention received from the esteemed government under the reign of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, may God protect him, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, may God bless him.
The health sector achieved a record of accomplishments and outstanding successes throughout the past stages. And that wasn’t possible without the investment in loyal and qualified national medical and nursing cadres, being the most important element in fulfilling the needs of citizens and residents, overcoming many globally challenging health issues, and implementing projects, plans and strategies with high capacity and efficiency. With the aim of meeting all aspirations and ambitions in line with achieving sustainable development goals and in accordance with the principles of sustainability, justice and competitiveness.
And in the context of continuing on the same track to meet the desired development goals, we look forward through the official website of the Ministry of Health, to outline the overall health system’s visions, policies and priorities set by various health sectors (Governance of Health Systems) during the next stages. The Ministry seeks to perform its new organizing and regulatory role and strengthen the role of health sector as regulators by harnessing all efforts and resources and preserve the health and safety of all society members consequently.
One of the top priorities of MoH during the upcoming stage is following up with the achievement of Sustainable Development related Goals, and strengthen joint work under the umbrella of Health Insurance as an executive body in cooperation and coordination with the Supreme Council of Health and with effective partnerships, which through an integrated interdependence can be created with Government Hospitals and Primary Health Care Centers. Furthermore, develop national strategies and programs for public health, prevention of infectious diseases and the limitation of the spread of chronic (non-communicable) diseases, as well as follow-up on their implementation in accordance with the highest levels and standards approved by the quality and efficiency system.
The Ministry of Health envisions a healthy society with a comprehensive and sustainable health care system, it also aims to regulate and monitor the provision of health-promoting preventive public health services in accordance with policies and legislation and within effective partnerships at the national, regional and global level.
The series of accomplishments and significant achievements are the outcome of the tremendous and generous support the health system receives from the reverend and esteemed government. Adding to that the great work done by all health workers to maintain these achievements and scale up the development process, hence creating more success stories that are in line with the developmental visions of our beloved kingdom
