Bahrain Minister of Health announces delivery of 300,000 doses of Sinopharma vaccine from the People's Republic of China
The Minister of Health, HE Faeqa bint Saeed Alsaleh, today announced that the Kingdom of Bahrain has today received delivery of 300,000 doses of the Sinopharma COVID-19 vaccine from the People's Republic of China.
HE the Minister affirmed that this morning Gulf Air offloaded 300,000 doses of the Sinopharma vaccine from the People's Republic of China in support of the National Vaccination Campaign, its largest-ever vaccine shipment. To date, the Kingdom has vaccinated 312,104 individuals.
HE the Minister noted that the Kingdom has mobilised all of its resources to safeguard public health and promote high immunisation rates by making vaccines approved by the WHO and authorised by the National Health Regulatory Authority available early and free of charge.
HE the Minister highlighted ongoing efforts to expedite the vaccine administration process and expand the reach of the National Vaccination Campaign by promoting confidence and uptake.
HE the Minister of Health expressed her appreciation for the support extended by HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
HE the Minister also thanked the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to the Kingdom of Bahrain, HE Dr. An Wa'er, for the role he played in helping Bahrain secure vaccines in spite of strict supply constraints.
In return, HE the Ambassador welcomed heightened cooperation between the two nations in addressing the global spread of the virus, and underlined to further promote the bilateral vaccine cooperation between China and Bahrain.
