Adherence to precautionary measures essential for ensuring secure, safe Ashoora season

Family Medicine Consultant, Head of the Fifth Health Region, Chairperson of the Ethics Committee at the Primary Health Care department, and supervisor of the King Fahd Causeway Clinic to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), Dr. Sonya Al-Mohammed, has urged social distancing, especially during special occasions, as the best means to protect the health and safety of everyone.
 
Dr. Sonya stressed that gatherings are among the main causes of the spread of COVID-19 infections, as shown by studies, and the findings of the National Medical Taskforce to Combat Coronavirus which registered a surge in cases during the gatherings that took place during Eid celebrations.
 
She warned that contacting asymptomatic cases poses a threat to public health and safety, calling for adherence to social distancing and the relevant precautionary measures in force.
 
She underlined the importance of commitment to the guidelines set by the National Medical Taskforce to Combat Coronavirus during the Ashoora Commemoration season to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 infections and the increase of active cases.
 
She affirmed that social distancing, wearing medical masks, washing hands and continuous sanitisation are essential for ensuring a secure and safe Ashoora season.
