Call to avoid coronavirus surge during Eid Al-Adha

Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa expressed congratulations and good wishes to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa on Eid Al-Adha.
 
He also extended Eid greetings to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and to His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister.
 
He wished HM the King, Bahrain’s Government and people, the Arab and Islamic nations many happy returns, praying to Allah the Almighty to bless the Kingdom with further progress and prosperity and the world with health and peace.
 
He called upon citizens and residents  to abide by the precautionary measures to avert a surge of COVID-19 cases during the Eid Al-Adha festivities and avoid the Eid Al-Fitr scenario.
 
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa, also Head of the National Taskforce for Combating COVID-19, urged full commitment to preventive measures so as to support the national efforts to combat the pandemic and mitigate its impact on public life.
 
He underlined every individual’s responsibility towards self, family, the community and the whole nation, urging all Bahraini families, as well as expatriates, to avoid outdoor gatherings, help protect the elderly and those suffering from chronic diseases.
 
Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa stressed the need to limit contacts, adhere to the criteria of social distancing, wearing face masks when meeting these people or when leaving the house in necessary cases only.
 
He commended the dedicated national efforts exerted by medical teams in the frontline of the fight against the pandemic, praising multi party cooperation and coordination in line with the World Health Organisation (WHO) recommendations.
