Bahrain, Italy exchange experiences in dealing with COVID-19

Bahrain is committed to continuing its great efforts to limit the spread of the coronavirus by strengthening all precautionary and preventive measures taken to ensure everybody’s health and safety, the President of the Supreme Council of Health  and Head of the national medical team to confront coronavirus (COVID-19) Lt. General Dr Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa has said.

He lauded the full support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and thanked His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, for their follow up on the efforts exerted by Team Bahrain.

Shaikh Mohammed made the statements as he received an Italian medical delegation on a visit to Bahrain.
He stressed that the exchange of experiences and expertise regarding the measures and efforts to mitigate and deal with COVID-19 between the two countries would enhance best practices.

The delegation presented its experience in fighting the coronavirus and the Italian health sector’s efforts to face all challenges following the outbreak of the virus.

They said they looked forward to working closely with Bahrain to review the treatment protocols used in the centers and to visiting the treatment centers in the military hospital, Sitra Field Hospital, and the Center for Genetic Hematology during their one-month visit.

The Bahraini side provided a detailed explanation of the latest developments regarding COVID-19 and the precautionary and preventive measures being implemented in this regard. A detailed explanation was provided on the latest statistics and procedures used in the Kingdom to mitigate the spread of the virus.
They also highlighted the achievements of the national medical team and the supporting teams in supervising the quarantine, isolation and treatment centers, the follow-up on existing cases, the updating policies and cooperation among all parties.

The Italian delegation praised Bahrain’s efforts and measures in dealing with COVID-19, preventive measures and early preparations taken in line with international standards and recommendations of the World Health Organization.
