Health Minister praises nursing staff’s dedicated efforts
Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh, has asserted that the nursing staff is an essential pillar of the health sector, noting that the kingdom allocates special interest in the nursing competencies, given their noble efforts and dedication in serving the citizens and residents.
Nurses have their clear imprints in the development and modernisation witnessed by Bahrain’s health sector, she said, noting that they are doing their utmost to ensure the comfort of patients, and that they are carrying out their humanitarian duties professionally round the clock.
She paid tribute to the nursing staff for their commendable contributions to combating the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), stressing that they are at the forefront in efforts to curb the pandemic, and that the health and safety of everyone are their top priority.
The minister made the statements while making field visits to various work sites of nurses, in the presence of the Health Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, and undersecretaries, to extend thanks and appreciation to all nursing teams, marking the World Health Day, observed worldwide every April 7.
Al-Saleh praised the 2020 World Health Day theme, “Support nurses and midwives”, stressing the pivotal role played by nurses and midwives in delivering health services.
Undersecretary, Dr. Waleed Khalifa Al Manea, saluted the nursing staff, noting that the designation of 2020 as the nursing year has highlighted the dedicated efforts of nurses amid the global outbreak of COVID-19.
The minister visited the COVID-19 examination centres at the Bahrain International Airport, the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre and the Accident and Emergency Department at the Salmaniya Medical Complex.
The minister, undersecretary and assistant undersecretaries expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to all medical competences, affirming the Health Ministry’s full support for the tremendous efforts they are exerting to service the citizens and residents.
