Capital Governor urges compliance with precautionary measures to combat COVID-19
Capital Governor Shaikh Hesham bin Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa urged compliance with the precautionary measures which were announced by the Ministry of Interior as part of nationwide efforts to combat the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
He highlighted particularly the ban on gatherings exceeding five people in public places in order to protect social safety, urging to avoid going out unless necessary, whether to report to work, go to the hospital, buy medicine or other necessary commodities.
He underlined the need to avoid sparking panic, adding that food stocks are enough to meet all needs. He stressed the importance of abiding with the social distancing at shopping markets and other facilities providing public services.
The Governor urged citizens and residents to comply with the edict stipulating the closure of industrial and trading outlets from 7 pm this evening until the 9th of April, and restrict their activities to deliveries.
He extended to all citizens and residents who show awareness and comply with the mandatory instructions in support of nation-wide efforts to combat COVID-19.
