SCIA praises Bahrain's efforts to fight COVID-19
The Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) praised the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to combat coronavirus (COVID-19) and cover the expenses of Bahraini citizens who are still abroad because of the virus. It also lauded the unrelenting efforts spearheaded by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier, to take the necessary preventive measures against the virus.
The council also commended in its regular meeting, which was chaired today by Shaikh Abdulrahman bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the dedicated efforts, professionalism and credibility of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronoavirus (COVID-19) which earned the kingdom international praise. It expressed confidence in the ability of the Kingdom of Bahrain to overcome the challenge, contain the virus and prevent its spread. It wished the infected people a speedy recovery, praying Allah the Almighty to protect Bahrain and its people and bless them and all Muslims with abundant good health and security.
The council stressed the need to cooperate with the competent authorities and abide by their health and regulatory instructions, calling on all to show solidarity. It also underlined support to the temporary preemptive measures taken by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to protect Umrah performers and visitors of the Holy Mosque of Prophet Mohammed from the virus.
Then, the council approved plans for the years 2021-2022 and got informed about the estimated budget prepared by the Secretariat General to carry out those programmes.
The council’s Secretary General presented a briefing on the general tenders to implement the projects approved by the council as part of a scheme to build mosques. The council decided to refer the issue to the mosques follow-up committee to evaluate the tenders and take the necessary procedures.
