Supreme Council for Health (SCH) President Lieutenant-General Dr. Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulla Al-Khalifa received Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) Assistant Secretary-General Abdulrahman Askar.

They discussed joint efforts to promote prevention from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the sports and youth sectors in the Kingdom of Bahrain.

They agreed to step up cooperation regarding Bahrain’s sports delegations taking part in external events, in addition to required preventive measures during sports events hosted in the Kingdom, featuring participants from different countries in the world.

The SCH president stressed the importance of exerting all parties’ efforts to prevent the virus, underlining the awareness campaign via the media and the social media.

He said that officials in Bahrain are following up the developments of the COVID-19 disease, stressing the readiness of competent medical authorities to deal with any developments.

The meeting was attended by SCYS director-general for Planning and Resources Marwan Fuad Kamal, Health Ministry Assistant Undersecretary Dr. Marian Al-Hajeri and other officials
