Contact Tracing Highlights
  1. Cluster 110668: A 78-year-old female citizen tested positive after developing symptoms. Contact tracing revealed 9 positive cases from 5 different households, all of whom direct contact with the index case.  The cases detected are family related and include the index case’s daughters, son, and grandchildren.  Further contact tracing of the daughters revealed 4 additional cases of secondary infections that include direct members of their family. This cluster resulted in a total of 13 positive cases from 8 different households. 
  2. Cluster 109544: Contact tracing of a 42-year-old male expatriate who tested positive after arriving in Bahrain revealed 6 positive cases, all of whom had direct contact with the index case.  The cases detected are co-workers sharing an  accommodation. Further contact tracing of one of the co-workers revealed an additional 20 cases of secondary infections, which include more co-workers and one of the co-worker’s wife.  This cluster resulted in a total of 26 positive cases.
  3. Cluster 110915: A 31-year-old male expatriate tested positive after developing symptoms. Contact tracing revealed 18 positive cases.  The cases detected are work-related and include the index case’s co-workers who share accommodation in 5 different locations.  
  4. Cluster 105446: Contact tracing of a 24-year-old male citizen who tested positive through random community screening identified his friend and a team member from the same sports activity as positive cases. Further contact tracing of the index case’s team member revealed an additional 9 positive cases of secondary infections, including his parents, wife, son, brothers, their wives and his nephews.  This cluster revealed a total of 11 positive cases. 
  5. Cluster 107889: A 39-year-old female citizen tested positive through random community screening. Contact tracing revealed 4 positive cases from the same household.  The cases detected are all within the family, and include the index case’s brother, sisters-in-law and nephew, all of whom had direct contact with her.  Further contact tracing of the nephew revealed an additional 9 positive cases of secondary infection, also within the family, and include his parents, brothers, uncle, his uncle’s wife and cousins.  This cluster revealed a total of 13 positive cases.
  6. Cluster 108002: Contact tracing of a 41-year-old male expatriate who tested positive after developing symptoms revealed 7 positive cases amongst co-workers. Further contact tracing of two of the co-workers revealed 5 additional cases, totaling 12 work-related cases.
